CRM 2011 Integration with SharePoint: Custom Document Management.Integrating Dynamics CRM Data into SharePoint 2010.Running the Setup package from the main SQL Server CD will start the general SQL Server installation routine (which can be off-putting when just aiming to install the Business Intelligence Component!) which then allows us to start the choose the main ‘Stand-alone Server’ installation option from the Installation menu The key here is that the required install for Visual Studio is driven from the main SQL Server 2008 or 2005 CD by running the main SQL Setup package – this can be run independently of Visual Studio (to install a version of Visual Studio that can only edit SRS Reports or Projects), or be installed as a snap-in extension to an existing installation of Visual Studio. Particularly as the Business Intelligence Studio extension for Visual Studio is not available for general download and so is a google/bing search away to download or install. This can lead to some confusion around how to setup a MSCRM Development Workstation to create or edit SRS Reports, and which is the correct component to install for open or creating SRS Reporting Projects. Or Business Intelligence Development Studio to give the full name – I come across a bit of confusion around this as clients and some consultants tend to group this in with Visual Studio whereas Microsoft think of this as a SQL Server Component.
